Since he's passed on and even in the flesh was not the easiest guy to know (if you were a "fan" so to speak.) it's comforting in a way to pop in the Criterion Collection edition of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and hear his insanely fun commentary track. It's hard to tell how much of it he's playing up for effect and how much is simply him but none the less you get some of his more vivid personality traits and opinions.
